Hi! I’m Nass,

I’m a watercolor illustrator inspired by the intricate beauty of nature’s smallest creatures. Born in Granada, Spain, I began my art journey early, but it wasn’t until moving to Madison, Wisconsin, that I started creating consistently. During cold winters and personal challenges, painting became my refuge — a way to process emotions and reconnect with myself.

After pursuing illustration full-time, life brought unexpected challenges, including a Hodgkin lymphoma diagnosis in 2019. Returning to Spain for treatment and later moving to Mexico shaped my art and perspective. In the lush forests of Chiapas, I began leading watercolor workshops and reconnecting with nature profoundly.

Today, from San Cristóbal de las Casas, I create detailed watercolor illustrations, specializing in insects — tiny masterpieces I call “nature’s jewelry.” Through my work and my course, I aim to inspire curiosity, wonder, and the healing power of painting, inviting others to reconnect with their own creativity with confidence and heart.

Mastering Wing Illustrations

This module focuses on the heart of insect beauty: the wings. You’ll study transparency, washes, structure, and patterns, culminating in a complete wing study that captures their delicate complexity.

MODULE 4

Mastering Beetles

Time to explore structure and detail! You’ll learn how to paint legs, antennae, patterns, and dimensions with precision, adding contrast and texture to bring beetles to life on the page.

MODULE 5

Final Project: Papilio Aegeo Swallowtail

In this module, you’ll combine all the skills learned so far to create a vibrant, detailed painting of the Papilio Aegeo Swallowtail. From sketch to final details, this project celebrates your growth as an insect illustrator.

MODULE 6

Advanced Project: Ten-lined June Beetle

Your final module takes things further with a complex, advanced study of the Ten-lined June Beetle. You’ll explore masking techniques, textures, and finishing touches, turning your sketchbook into a showcase of skill, patience, and creativity.
